Bio: Felix Chu is in the field of public policy and research, and has worked in the federal level of government. He focuses his work on feminist policy-making and gender-based analysis. His views on community, and his desire for progressive social change, come from his roots and studies in Scarborough. To him, Scarborough is home, a sanctuary for racialized communities, and a vibrant community that lives and breathes concepts he learned later in the classroom -- concepts such as "solidarity" and "intersectionality". For him, Scarborough Studies is not so much about "Studying Scarborough", as it is about how the lived experiences of Scarborough residents can inform how we can all demonstrate solidarity through community development, policy making, and yes, through academic inquiry.
